Payment, Refund and Cancellation Policy

Annual Marcus Mosiah Garvey Domino Tournament

Payment, Refund and Cancellation Policy

Version 2026.4 • Effective July 21, 2026

This policy explains MMGDT registration fees, payment methods, reservation status, refunds, cancellations, and postponements.

1. Fees and payment methods

  • The player registration fee is $100 CAD per person and $200 CAD per doubles team.
  • Accepted methods are Debit / Credit Card, E-Transfer, and Cash where available.
  • The checkout or payment instruction page will show the amount due before payment. Mandatory charges will not be added without clear disclosure.

2. Pending reservations

  • Submitting a registration does not by itself confirm a tournament place.
  • E-Transfer and Cash registrations remain pending until the payment is received and recorded.
  • Unpaid reservations may be released after the posted payment or registration deadline.

3. E-Transfer

  • Send E-Transfer payments to fee@mmgdt.com and include the registration code in the message or reference field.
  • Keep the banking confirmation until the Manager Dashboard shows the payment as received.

4. Cash

  • Cash must be paid to an authorized MMGDT representative at an approved location or the tournament check-in desk.
  • The payer should present the registration code and obtain an MMGDT receipt.
  • A cash selection does not mean payment has been received.

5. Debit / Credit Card

  • Card payments are processed through the connected payment provider. MMGDT does not store full card numbers.
  • A successful card authorization does not replace account confirmation, policy acceptance, or management approval.

6. Prize board qualification

  • The full $10,000 CAD prize board requires paid and approved registrations equal to at least 80% of the published 128-player capacity by August 4, 2026 at 11:59 PM EDT.
  • The published schedule is: 103-128 paid and approved players, $10,000 CAD; 84-102, $7,500 CAD; 50-83, $5,000 CAD; 24-49, $2,000 CAD; and fewer than 24 players, the organizer may postpone or cancel.
  • Only fully paid and management-approved player registrations count. Pending, unpaid, rejected, cancelled, refunded, expired, and waived registrations do not count.
  • The final prize board is confirmed after registration closes and before tournament play begins.

7. Existing paid registrants and material updates

  • A participant who paid before this prize-board condition was published will receive notice of the material update.
  • An existing paid registrant who does not accept the revised condition may request a full registration-fee refund within seven (7) calendar days of receiving the notice and before tournament play begins. The request must include the registration code and be sent to fee@mmgdt.com.

8. Refunds and withdrawals

  • Registration fees are generally non-refundable when a participant withdraws, fails to attend, is disqualified, or fails to read or follow the posted rules and policies.
  • An approved refund may be issued where required by applicable law, where MMGDT makes a material error, or where the tournament is cancelled by the organizers.
  • Processing charges that MMGDT cannot recover may be excluded from a discretionary refund where lawful and clearly disclosed.

9. Team changes

  • Before tournament play begins, a partner change may be considered only with written management approval, updated account information, and acceptance of all current requirements.
  • Once tournament play begins, players may not be replaced and the team may forfeit if a player leaves.

10. Postponement, relocation, or cancellation

  • If the event is postponed or relocated, registrations will ordinarily transfer to the new date or location unless management announces another remedy.
  • If MMGDT cancels the tournament, registration fees paid to MMGDT will be refunded, subject to applicable law and verified payment records.
  • MMGDT is not responsible for personal travel, lodging, or other third-party expenses unless required by law.

11. Receipts, disputes, and contact

  • Receipts and payment status are available through the player account or Manager Dashboard.
  • Payment questions should include the registration code, payment date, method, amount, and reference number and may be sent to fee@mmgdt.com.
